Sacred Ground a Highway
Celestial Pit Stops: Discovering Sacred Ground on Life’s Highway by Lindsay Godfree ~
Have you ever been driving along a highway, lost in thought or humming to music, when suddenly you feel a shift? This is the part of life’s journey when you can feel the “angels take the wheel.”
Sometimes, the air thickens with presence. Your heart opens. The light around you seems just a little brighter. Time slows—or stretches. And in that moment, it’s as if the veil thins and the Divine peeks through.
These moments are what I call Celestial Pit Stops—those unexpected places on your journey where the spiritual and physical worlds meet.
They may look like an ordinary rest area, a quiet desert vista, or even a weathered roadside chapel. But energetically, they are portals—points on the Earth’s energy grid where something higher touches down.

Atop the lookout over Sedona, Arizona, at the airport vortex overlook.
Grids, Energy Vortices, and Portals
Earth itself is alive with energy, woven through what many call the planetary grid—a vast network of energy lines (similar to meridians in the body) that connect sacred sites, vortexes, and high-frequency zones.
When I crisscross the highways of North America, I think of myself as a grid worker and trailing angelic energies with me.
Throughout history, humanity has built temples, pyramids, and pilgrimage routes on nodal points. Many lesser-known nodes exist, especially along roadways and byways, where spiritual travelers—even truckers and RV wanderers—receive insights and transformations while in motion.
For those tuned in, these pit stops can feel like coming home. They’re places where the angels whisper louder, where the body calms, and the soul remembers. One might experience visions; I experience information downloads whenever I tune in.
No Limitations of Time and Space
Sacred ground is not limited to well-known sites like Sedona or Stonehenge. Nor is there a limit to the eternal NOW. It is easier to connect with multidimensional beings than you might think.
I experienced expansion near Native American sites like Monument Valley, along desert roadsides where I felt the angelic presence.
Other spiritual seekers have told stories of feeling a strong pull to certain places on the road—sometimes for no apparent reason—only to experience synchronicities, messages from departed loved ones, or angelic interventions.
I have always felt drawn to Mount Shasta along Hwy I-5 in California, and I am overwhelmed by the majesty of the forests and trees like those in Sequoia National Park, where the divine feels close and heaven is near.
Whenever these occur, they are not coincidences. They are invitations to pause, breathe, and listen.

So next time you find yourself needing a break from the drive, take a moment to notice:
Is there something in the air here?
Is this a Celestial Pit Stop?
The sacred may be closer than you think—just waiting for you to step out, stretch your legs, and receive.
Maybe I will see you there…
Notes: “Angels Take the Wheel: Finding the Divine in Life on the Road. summer series is about how life behind the wheel became a spiritual journey. Long hours on the road opened space for reflection, divine messages, and real encounters with angelic presence, which are intermingled with the fact that I have been on the road for almost 20 years.
You can also find my photography for purchase at Fine Art America. Fun gifts too, like this sunflower throw pillow that I made for my mother.
