To feel better: Start with a detox diet
Sometimes you have to feel worse before you feel better. I was so depressed and without energy that I felt I could not drag myself through another day. I felt like crying all the time. I did not have the desire to do anything nor a clue how to begin to correct my life if I did not have the energy. Does any of this sound familiar?
I realized that you can’t ask the Universe to keep you healthy and happy and then fill yourself with toxins and fattening foods. One has to do their best to help themselves even if it is baby steps.
First: Take control of the physical
Taking some control of your physical body will give you a base to work with in all areas of your life. You can work on several areas of your life at once if you have the time and strength because there is no doubt that there are mental and emotional triggers to poor eating habits. (Those additional areas will also be addressed in later blog posts)
Right now taking control of the physical is a daily practice where success is measurable and you can make a game out of it. Sticking to a healthy regime is the first key to getting control of your life. Plan ahead so you have plenty of healthy foods to eat. Most people interested in increasing consciousness realize that toxins block clarity and energy flow.
To make major life changes it is logical thing to go on a cleansing diet, rid oneself of toxins and even lose some weight. I went on a four week diet; two weeks of RepairVite program and two more weeks of ClearVite detoxification under the guidance of my healthcare practitioner. Allow time to detox, realize that you might feel worse as the toxins move into the blood stream, before you feel better. Learn more about this diet at
I also liked the HGC diet under the care of my Chiropractor which has been a popular weight loss diet. I was also successful with this one and it takes off the weight in a hurry. I also enlisted a family member to do it with me so that I had moral support and someone to share the groceries and the cooking with.
And I really loved the Fat Flush Diet! I love fruits, vegetables and protein. I still add cranberry juice to my morning smoothie. The key is to eat many vegetables, only eat low glycemic fruit, and portion your protein. Portion control is important in most diets as well.
I get bored with the same diet all the time so like to try different ones. You should do what works for you, these are just some suggestions that worked for me. If you try a diet that includes foods you don’t enjoy you can’t stick to it. Don’t set yourself up for failure that will be harder on your self-esteem and produce more negative feelings. Then continue to eat clean.
Important tip: Consult your doctor or health practitioner to see what diet is right for you. I also talked to a doctor about my slow weight loss, lack of energy, and moodiness to see about hormone imbalance. Also check for allergies and food sensitivity that might be sapping your energy.
